Some recent projects I've completed include:

Report: 'The Governance and Financial Management of Endowed Charitable Foundations'. Research sponsored by Esmee Fairbairn, The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, Nuffield Foundation, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Trinity College Cambridge and Trust for London. Report published by the Association of Charitable Foundations. Pdf available to download on 'Foundations' page.

Planning days and strategic reviews for organisations launching new services or reviewing strategies. Including for example West Euston Partnership, Volcano Theatre, Yes To Life.

Strategic review and feasibility study
of Third Sector Support and Development Services. Associate with Grant Thornton public sector consultancy. Providing expert advice on methodology, third sector issues and stakeholder handling for Herefordshire Council.

Report on social and economic benefits. ‘Social and Economic Benefits of Compact Working’, designing and carrying out field work in 8 local authority areas to identify the social and economic benefits of working with VCS and social enterprises, creation of an online toolkit, and joint authorship of report for publication. Compact Commission

Lessons learned study and report
. National Neighbourhood and Home Watch, working with trustees and staff to identify lessons learned in creating a new national organisation. Commissioned by Capacitybuilders.

Grant Programme Director
. Cabinet Office Real Help for Communities Modernisation Fund. Led multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver highly successful £7m Cabinet Office recession programme, working with government department, national umbrella bodies and lawyers. Project included commissioning and procurement of new grants management system.

Tender bid for management of Government programme.
Led team bidding for management of £70m central government programme, preparing for and leading presentations and all written submissions for Government Department. Worked confidentially with consortium members to provide costings and financial modeling. Provided impartial advice to CEO and board on feasibility of options and programme risks.

New Grant Programme.
Designed national grant programme to invest in social enterprises, negotiating with social enterprise leaders and government department to agree programme outcomes, and worked with staff team to launch £6m grant programme.

Commissioned feasibility study
into sustainability of national skills centre, carrying out tendering exercise for researchers, providing advice to board, developing press lines.

Responding to National Audit Office report and select committee hearing
on assessment on Capacitybuilders programme, providing link with Government Audit Agency staff, assisting with design of supplementary research and coordinating and providing comments on drafts in very tight timescales as well as coordinating briefing for House of Commons select committee scrutiny of report.

Design and commission of evaluation programme.
Developed and commissioned evaluation for £220m grants programme, including managing EU procurement process.
